Day 19: Lac d'Aubert to Vielle Aure

A beautiful mountain morning and a gentle climb through the mountains.  The downhill climb, however, lasted for hours and was the steepest, hottest we'd seen yet.  We ended the day at a campsite in the tiny town of Vielle Aure where Frederick and fellow french campers had to watch us devour an entire rotisserie chicken from the grocery.  We were covered in the greasy mess and apologize to anyone who had to suffer the sight.  Frederick then proceeded to explain to us the beautiful style of the french meal with the slow and delicious procession of apertifs, wines, digestivs etc- the french defintely have made an art out of eating and drinking.  Although, we have to admit that we are a little sick of the french breakfast- or general lack thereof- daily consisting of a bit of baguette, some jam and coffee.  We dream of a protein rich breakfast- or even just a little yogourt and granola. This is one of our very few complaints of the overall delicious food we've had here.
