Day 20: Vielle Aure to Germ

A fairly easy day, though a bit difficult to find the trail and a very hot climb at the end.  We settled into a refuge here- the Centre de las Montagnes- where a group of kids were staying that reminded us of Lost Coast Camp- they even put on a small music show that night.  After this we sat with Glen, Sam and Frederick to watch the largest storm through giant open windows that looked out over the huge mountains around us.  We drank wine and watched as the mountains exploded as lightning struck below and around us and as the torrential rain made us feel very lucky to have landed in a refuge that night. The rain also washed away the relentless swarm of flies that have been tickling our feet and faces- a June regularity in the mountains we've learned.
