Day 11 : Lescun to Estaut

Another crazy steep climb out of town after passing the campground we would have stayed in if we had not run into all of our friends the day before. We learned that the campgrounds often have laundary facilities while none are usually found in the gites or around town. There were several angry dogs about through this section as well as bitting flies - one of which drew blood (a fly, not a dog). The wildflowers were really blowing up through here and it really felt like spring in the air. The hike was pretty mellow after the climb and we quickly got to Estaut where Andy and Ian were finishing this years leg of their trip. Because of a French holiday, they needed to get their bus on this afternoon, so Andy talked the gite gaurdian into transfering their room and meals to us - What luck! We also inherited the next map and had a gret afternoon of laughs hanging in the sqaure with these bril guys. A gret dinner of head-cheese-pate, fried duck and fritz. The gite had a few donkeys which meant there were 1-million-to-the-few flies. It was a little overwhelming, but there would be plenty more flies later.
